Joshua C. Chartier Joshua Chartier received a dual undergraduate degree in Philosophy and History from Central Michigan University in 2002, magna cum laude. During his college tenure he was a member of the pre-law fraternity Phi Alpha Delta and worked as both a Resident Assistant and Multicultural Advisor. In 2002, Mr. Chartier began his legal education at the University of Michigan Law School. In 2003, he participated in an internship with the Macomb and Oakland branches of the Legal Aid and Defender Association, helping clients with a variety of civil matters. In 2004, he completed an internship position with the Alaska Public Defender Agency. At the Agency, Mr. Chartier was awarded a caseload of approximately forty misdemeanor files, giving him a tremendous amount of court experience at a young age. He then returned to Ann Arbor and graduated from the University of Michigan Law School in 2005. Following graduation, Mr. Chartier began his law practice with the State Defender’s Office in Detroit. During his two years there, he handled a wide range of serious felony matters, ranging from identity fraud to armed robberies to capital offenses, and personally conducted multiple criminal trials in Wayne County’s Third Circuit Court. Now, as an associate with Krolikowski, Capelli & Fryer, PLLC, Mr. Chartier enjoys the opportunity to utilize the expertise he gained in handling criminal matters while also applying his litigation experience to areas such as civil litigation and employment law.
