Jill M. Krolikowski

Jill Krolikowski received her undergraduate degree in Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy from James Madison College at Michigan State University in 1996.  After graduation, she worked for two years in an insurance litigation firm and then began her legal education at Wayne State University Law School.  While at Wayne State she worked as a paralegal for a national insurance subrogation firm.  In this capacity, she argued in arbitration hearings across the United States in such matters as property insurance, negligence, products liability and claims involving catastrophic fire and water damage.  She graduated from Wayne State in 2002, cum laude, while employed full-time.

Following graduation, Ms. Krolikowski continued her insurance focus at several large law firms, litigating insurance coverage matters and providing coverage opinions.  In order to broaden her legal experience beyond litigation, Ms. Krolikowski joined a prominent Detroit-based law firm as an attorney in its Insurance Department.  While at that firm, Ms. Krolikowski practiced primarily in the area of captive insurance and alternative risk financing.  She represented hospitals and physician groups, in matters such as forming self insurance trusts, risk retention groups and captive insurance companies.  She also continued to represent insurance companies in providing coverage opinions and litigating coverage disputes.  Ms. Krolikowski worked with Mr. Fryer at that firm for more than two years, before continuing her practice at another insurance-focused law firm.

In 2007, Ms. Krolikowski decided to start her own law firm, initially as Jill M. Krolikowski, PLLC.  In July 2008, the firm became Krolikowski & Fryer, PLLC with the addition of Zachary Fryer.

Ms. Krolikowski currently specializes in commercial litigation, including insurance coverage and general contract litigation.

Ms. Krolikowski is actively involved in numerous legal and community organizations.  She is the Immediate Past President of the Women’s Bar Association, as well as a former board member of the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association and James Madison College Alumni Association.  As part of her duties of the Women’s Bar Association, she has served as the Chairperson of the Candidate Rating and Endorsement Committee, which reviewed and rated candidates for political office.  In addition, and to continually broaden her knowledge base, she is slowly pursuing a Masters of Laws in Corporate and Finance Law at Wayne State.
